If the family is the basis of the society, and the basis of the family is the division of labor between husband and wife, and the upbringing of children is the most important function of the family, then such a society is indeed civilized.

Islam recognizes family as a basic social unit. Along with the husband-wife relationship the parent-child relationship is the most important one.

     Alcohol is a leading cause of death and serious injuries in traffic accidents. Islam forbids all intoxicants including beer and wine. It is unbecoming of a religious person to drink. Don't drink! 

Sexual promiscuity and homosexuality are crimes in the sight of God.
